We noticed a couple of bugs in the Scoreboard Control while scoring the Snooker World Handicap Tournie last weekend which affected the high break records and safety percentages shown in performance statistics... now fixed (version 1.1.0.3).

10th February 2010

New live scoreboard software and drawsheet maker released.

The BallStream Scoreboard Control will provide a scoreboard from any monitor connected directly to the computer (no internet required). BSC caters for all cue sport games including billiards, snooker, 8-ball, 9-ball, and 10-ball pool with many features for performance statistics, tournament and draw management. The BallStream Drawsheet Control can be used to create seeded draws for all tournaments and all sports. BDC includes tools and templates for 8, 16, 32, 64 and 128 player draws. Players can be selected, sorted in order of seed or rank and the draw maker will automatically sort the drawsheet to allow for byes, etc.

11th November 2009

Added the option of high and low quality settings for users with slow internet connections when watching archived videos which are recorded at a much higher quality than live stream broadcasts.

28th October 2009

Fixed a problem encountered when scoring matches where there were more than 80 visits (turns) to the table during a single frame. Slowed down the live score refresh rate that is displayed with a live video stream to allow for lag time between real time and stream delay caused by the server encoding. Added a status bar and controls to the live video display to notify users when the video stream is being buffered before being shown.

21st October 2009

Completed the DVD catalogue for online orders and delivery by post.

20th September 2009

Over the last couple of months William has video recorded the final match of several major snooker championships around Australia and met with officials and club staff to discuss the best way to broadcast their next events. These events have been live streamed where Internet was available, however all of these events will be available soon as archives for viewing online and on DVD.

Easier to remember domains have been registered for ballstream.com and ballstream.com.au.

13th August 2009

Our media server was been moved from the Bribie network to a Brisbane data centre to cater for unlimited stream video bandwidth and the score databases have been migrated from Access to SQL to cater for unlimited connections.

8th August 2009

Real-time scoreboard embedded into live video streams. Our new software captures the current scores from the live scoreboard and embeds it into the video recording as it is being sent to the media server, providing current point scores, frame scores and the name of the player at the table at the time.

6th August 2009

Modified the full screen scoreboards to suit window size rather than monitor dimensions. The new scaling functions will now auto-adjust to fit any window size and automatically adjust to any resized browser window, providing a sharp and proportional display throughout the whole range of monitor sizes from desktop to giant plasma screens.

27th July 2009

Optimised MultiScorer functions for billiards and created a billiards string display for scoreboards:

Live video streaming from events is now available. Added score controls for billiards.

20th July 2009

Modified functions and security for multiple match scoring forms. Fixed a bug in the ballstring display that appears on the scoreboards where colours were not displaying after all reds had been potted. Added a new multiscore match control page for scoring dual (2) matches.

14th July 2009

Added online chat for logged in scorers. To connect to chat a scorer only has to be logged into the forum and then click the chat link. Chat includes private messaging as well as community discussion and the option of using separate channels (rooms) for different matches.

13th July 2009

Added banner advertising management for scorers to sell advertising space on their scoreboards. Images can be uploaded and scaled/cropped to the required size and then added to a scorer's individual banner library. From the match editing control the appropriate banner/s can be assigned. If no banner is assigned then banners will not appear on the scoreboard for that match. If multiple banners are assigned they will appear in rotation.

11th July 2009

Revised crop image area selection to overcome Internet Explorer's non-compliance to WC3 standards. Added advertising info and media download page.

9th July 2009

Modified site membership to cater for provisional access for new visitors to test drive the live scoring environment without affecting the real match programme managed by approved (realtime) scorers.

7th July 2009

The former site has now been integrated with a sophisticated portal solution to provide discussion forums, member photo albums and varying levels of access for the management of individual live score and video streaming accounts.

26th June 2009

Scorers can now print out individual frame scores itemising each player's progress stroke by stroke.

Added rules to prevent a scorer from corrupting the progressive results and ballstring display. Optimised keyboard control for scorers to enable all frame scoring functions when using the number pad only.

24th June 2009

Added miniature scoring panel to the fullscreen monitor display for when using the same computer/screen for both public display and scoring updates. It can be accessed from top right of the screen and clicking MiniScore.

Optimised the fullscreen scoreboard number display for super large monitors. Added visual ball display for current break and modified the add scores functions to enable corrections for wrong input:

 =  58 break
- score inputs should be a single digit between 1-7 to maintain the ballstring
- to input double digits (to resume a frame) type a plus sign (+) before the score
- otherwise using double digits will be ignored
- any input other than 1-7 will clear the current break count and ball string display
- use a (-) before the score to deduct points from the active player

22nd June 2009

Tracking of active users and session times, search engine identification and crawler detection.

21st June 2009

Demo accounts are auto approved providing they validate their identity from a link sent by email. The demo section uses a separate database and upload folders so that any misadventure cannot affect matches provided by the official scorers in any way.

15th June 2009

Full screen scoreboards for different screen sizes are now available from a single link with compensation for irregular screen proportions. Scorers have the option of marking player images so that they may not be shared by other scorers.
